Welcome to the first Epicenter Research Summit, to be held on August 4th and 5th at Stanford University. This meeting will convene top researchers in entrepreneurship, education, and engineering to present and discuss the latest work in the field. Your research and expertise make you a valuable addition to this community of “thinkers and doers”, and we would be honored if you could join us.

Epicenter, funded by the National Science Foundation and managed by Stanford University and the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance (NCIIA), empowers undergraduate engineering students to bring their ideas to life for the benefit of our economy and society. As part of this work, we examine a number of topics, including models for educating engineers in entrepreneurial thinking, and entrepreneurship experiences among undergraduate engineers as compared with their peers in other disciplines.

Our first Research Summit will be held over a 1.5 day period (Monday 8/4 and Tuesday 8/5) at the Stanford campus. We anticipate that there will be about 60 attendees from across the U.S. and overseas. Our format will be a mix of paper presentations, keynote addresses, and networking sessions. Our goals are to:

  • Strengthen the entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education research community
  • Highlight and share the latest research findings from the community
  • Identify new questions in entrepreneurship education research
  • Create new connections and collaborations in this community

Information about hotel and travel accommodations have been updated.  As we get closer to the Summit, please visit this site again for more information about the Summit participants and schedule.  Should you have any questions, please contact us at summit2014@research-epicenter.stanford.edu
