We request your assistance in helping us to meet a Summit goal – to facilitate communication and collaboration across all Summit participants.  In our efforts to do this, we are asking each participant to bring an informative poster with them which will be part of our opening icebreaker activity and Monday night’s dinner reception.

We have devised a template for the posters to assure this endeavor not take too much of your time.  Two templates are available – one with a more research focus and a second for those who may be engaged in synergistic activities related to entrepreneurship education.  You are invited to pick either template and modify it to suit your interests. The attached poster template is intended to be reproduced as a standard 3 feet x 4 feet poster.  You may also adjust the size to create a 2 feet x 3 feet sized poster, however we do not recommend going any smaller than 2 x 3.

All posters will be set-up during the icebreaker activity on August 4th.  Throughout our two-day summit, participants will have the opportunity to review posters and to learn more about their fellow Summit participants, their research interests, and the scope of work being pursued by fellow participants.  There will also be post-its available so that individuals can leave notes on the posters and connect with each other during the Summit and hopefully after the Summit as well.  The hope is to foster dialogue among all attendees as early as possible so that during our time together, participants can take advantage of the knowledge and expertise they have in each other and benefit from the experience and interests that each person will bring to the summit.

Keep in mind this is not intended to be an artistic exercise, nor a time consuming one.  Its purpose is to serve as an introduction and as an entrée to discussion.  We certainly won’t limit your creativity but we also don’t expect it!

Please plan to bring a physical copy of your poster to the registration desk on August 4th.  We also ask that you submit a high-resolution PDF version of your poster by August 1st so that we can create a virtual gallery of all of the Epicenter Research Summit posters for comments and networking during and after the meeting.  Please follow these steps:

  1. After creating your poster using one of the two templates, save your poster as a PDF file.
  2. Rename the file to include your name and Epicenter 2014, e.g. SSheppard_poster_Epicenter2014.pdf.
  3. By August 1st, email your poster as an attachment to upload.2014_Ep.gsfw2kwa4l@u.box.com
  4. On August 4th, bring a physical copy of your poster to the registration desk to be posted during the summit

As always, if you have any questions or need any assistance, please contact us at summit2014@research-epicenter.stanford.edu
