Summary

As part of our first meeting, Maria Holland and I talked mostly about what we each wanted to get out of the Latino Scholars program. We shared background information about ourselves and talked about what organizations we were each involved with. I found that as a Graduate Student, she lives a very different life and has not yet gotten the chance to see what Stanford is like. As an undergraduate, I hope to see a lot of what it's like on the other side of the fence.

Questions & Topics for Further Discussion

I am still curious about what is specifically different in graduate school. What sorts of obligations are involved? What's the time committment? If you had any words of warning or advice you wish you would have known beforehand, what are they? As for possible future topics, I see Maria and I talking about what life is like as part of the Stanford Band (Drum's Section). I would like to see what the class-track should be like for a biomechanical engineering major, and what do I have to do now if I plan on going overseas?
