Even before I go to Tunisia to start my research (not an easy task in and of itself), I am being pushed to stay away! I am both very excited to see Tunis for the first time, and make in-roads with contacts at universities and centers, and at the same time, very worried about how doing research in a country I've never been to, where French is more common than English, and where there are lots of bureaucratic obstacles...research in Jordan has really been a joy so far in terms of logistics and contacts. And of course, it's safe and stable!
