Education system: weak differentiation, strongish standardization

Low educational inequality mightprompt parents to ensure class reproduction thorugh direct means

 

Direct effects of class background are weaker on the highly education 

  • More meritocratic labor markets
  • Independence from parents

Hypotheses

  1. Direct effects also found in Sweden
  2. Long-term decrease, though not linear (through modernization, lower ascriptive/more achievement)
  3.  Weaker effects for women, especially in the later periods (women in more public sector positions)
