I've been thinking about the experience of living in Tunisia. Tunisia is a spectacularly beautiful country. It is really breathtaking, and even though it is not the easiest place to make home at times, given how difficult transportation can be, or the lack of insulation in houses, and the rain in winter, there are many reasons for which it is not necessarily as comfortable as home in the US is, but it is certainly much more interesting place to live.

But, what makes it so lovely is the detail, -- every moment really is a feast of color, tiles, architectural details -- almost nothing is left bland, colorless or unadorned. And the parts of Tunis that are left unadorned are very clearly the newly built suburbs, which aspire to a very different experience (for those with cars, wealth).

I want to take this attention to detail home with me, even if only in photographs.
