For the final comic project, I am leaning on the inspiration of Garry Trudeau, who suggested the concept of a branched structure. It is a very simple set of interactions between two friends, but the number of possibilities for the plot of these interactions are infinite, and will be demonstrated by the slow decrease in size of panels until the reader can no longer see them. There will be four major concepts discussed under the umbrella of the "culture industry," a term coined by Theodor Adorno: hip-hop, Muzak, site-specificity, and minimalism. The interactions these two friends will have represent the possible dual beliefs one can have on the presence of the culture industry in these art-specific topics. The style of the comic will be minimalist and cartoonish, black and white, and oversized. The style of the branching is yet to be determined, as well as how to incorporate the concept of branching within the panel action to bring a sense of cyclicalness to the comic.
