Stanford is in the early stages of exploring the possible benefits of electronic learning portfolios (ePortfolios) to support teaching and learning activities on campus and gather authentic evidence of student work.  These ePortfolios are intended to benefit undergraduate and graduate students by providing them with a context and a platform to communicate what they are gaining from their Stanford education both inside and outside the classroom, and not just what was delivered to them in traditional courses and requirements. At the same time, we believe ePortfolios can also serve to inform the institution with insights into what aspects of the educational experience at Stanford are significant to students.

Supported by Stanford's Office of the Registrar under the leadership of Dr. Helen L. Chen, Director of ePortfolio Initiatives, and Registrar Tom Black, this project portfolio highlights some of our pilot efforts to explore how ePortfolios can support and benefit Stanford graduate students.  We are in the process of developing our strategy for ePortfolios at Stanford and welcome your feedback and suggestions!
