An orientation to ePortfolios was given by Dr. Helen L. Chen, Director of ePortfolio Initiatives, on Friday, March 8th 2013. This information session was attended by over 40 students. Selected slides with accompanying links that were presented at the meeting are below.
Lizzie Buckner is a doctoral student in the School of Education and is currently in Morocco doing field work. This ePortfolio captures some of her observations doing field research in that region but the process of working on this ePortfolio has also inspired her to consider how she might use this platform to showcase some of the case studies she is developing that would include notes, newspaper articles, and other media. This kind of "case study ePortfolio" could potentially be used to demonstrate to a search commitee how she organizes and presents her data and her analysis approach in a multimedia, web-based format that could be potentially used by future graduate students, collaborators, and advisees.
