Stanford's Portfolio to Professoriate (P2P) was a voluntary pilot program held in Spring 2013, as a partnership between the Office of the Registrar and Professor Lisa McNair from Virginia Tech and her colleague Wende Garrison.

Emails were sent to various graduate student lists and over 130 graduate students and postdocs from a variety of disciplines expressed interest in the program.  Priority was given to PhD students although all graduate students and postdocs were welcome to apply.  42 students were selected to participate.

These students began to complete a basic professional digital portfolio within 10 weeks, starting on April 1, 2013. Participants received online instructions and weekly feedback with an anticipated weekly commitment of no more than 45 minutes. All students were asked to participate in a final showcase of their ePortfolios to campus stakeholders and a focus session (three hour total commitment) on May 21-22, 2013.
